Pete Burns

Written by kaikai

Man, one of those really weird two hours of free time during the week. It rains outside and I’m just googlin around…round…round. Ended up on youTube searching a sound I had in mind: D.O.A. – Spin me round, pretty well known… The famous time killing link list on the right guided me to some more clips about Pete Burns. He’s a pretty interesting person. Nonetheless he seems to be a freak but as far as I’m concerned I love it. A beauty surgery of his lips which made him loose nearly all his money looks like my hip now and this injury came from somewhere in the beauty nature. So it’s all aesthetics right? The sound is cool anyway >click<

Riding Time!

Written by kaikai

Swiss Bike Masters Freeride Weekend! Nice weather, great trails and good buddys. What more can you expect from a Saturday. Well, propably to meet the woman of your dreams? Actually there were a few, but even though I do not sleep as much as neccessary to know how “she ” is looking I was pretty sure that she was not there. The fact that most of them were 15 years old might play an important role with that decision… Anyway, we did some cool training rides in a super impressive high alpine terrain and were pretty stoked to take the days last ride until this little sucker of stone – who was hiding under some grass – punched my front wheel and made my bike go down hill. In fact this ment my bike was somehow a few meters below me. What happened to me is another story. Finally I found myself in the train downhill. The feeling not to be able to finish a race sucks. But the fact that I was out made my buddies step one place ahead ;-) . I definitely have to sent a huge congrats to Stefan for becoming 21st (of 260) and even on a Gambler (which somehow turned out not to be his favourite Bike) – very nice! Intersing to see now that my starting number is the same number we use in Germany for emergency calls…a sign? Whatever, it is now on my “nail of trails” and I’m expecting some more numbers in the following weeks.

Ahhh….

It was a pretty hard hard week…Sometimes I really wonder how I can work until 4 (yes, a.m.) and be on track at 9 again. It’s obviously pretty shitty for your whole system so I have to do something else beside Workouts and Mountainbiking. And here comes a huge benefit of this place: Honestly, how many people can spent their lunch break in swimming shorts at the seaside with a view like this between their legs. Well, perhaps thats the reasosn why it works… A sunbath a day keeps the eye-rings away!

The DisAdvantages of…

Written by kaikai

...modern life. Strange title for a blog entry about a new car but anyway. It’s now approx. 4 month since I’ve entered the absolut corporate world and moved to the alps. It were 4 month of constantly more and more working, a ton of nice projects, a lot new friends and of course a ton of pretty good riding. And it also 4 month of waiting for this moment. On Friday I went back home in order to get my new Dacia Logan, my first very own vehicle. I know a lot of people might think: “Why a Logan?”but there are a couple of good reasons to get one. It costs round about 10.000 Euro with a full 3 year warrenty, it’s the only cheap urban proof sleeping mobile that can carry bikes and a lot of other stuff for this price and most importantly you get a freaking HighTech CD Radio with it for free. The Radio is awesome, it can play MP3 CDs. Nice, right? Well I guess that are enough reasons to convince anyone to get one….just one more: It needs round about 5 Litres which is cool considering the gas prices. Alright, right out of the car store I drove to the DIY Market to invest 5 Euros in Car Tuning.: A spray can of matte dark-grey to get the rims dark. It was just because the silver-black contrast did not fit from the side view but it’s an average mistake that may appear during any design process, nevermind. After that it was test-riding-time and the Logan got loaded with some buddies , some bikes and a lot of gear to spent 2 riding days in the Harz Wobbles (eh, I mean Mountains). The riding was nice even though my buddy Ben broke his hand (please get well soon dude!) and the smell of a new car got replaced by the smell of sweaty body-armor and the dirt of crusty bikes. But the Logan took it all easy. So, and why did I call the entry DisAdvantages of modern life? Hmmm, perhaps because it’s wednesday and I feel like Friday evening but you know…

Way back home…

Written by kaikai

Look at this epic picture. This is what I see on my way back from work (well, if I’ll leave the office before dawn). It’s sweet, right? Today we made it out of the office by seven and were able to take a swim in the lake. It’s pretty cool because we also go swimming during lunch break because there’s a nice river pretty close to the office. I guess this heals some overtime wounds…well I hope so because I still feel kind of exhausted. Anyway, it’s a nice enviroment down here.

CoolGuy again…

Germany is a weird country. Usually we are pretty unemotional, drink beer and complain a lot. But when there’s a soccer event some thigs change immediately. We totally freak out, drink even more beer and forget about all the sadness…Well, actually it’s not a bad situation but it just does not seem to be very true. Those emoitons end as quick as they started if the German Team loses. Anyway, CoolGuy freaked out as you can see. Prost!

L.A.O.

Weeeew! Lifts Are Open Weekend has come. My first Summerseason in the Alps and time to head out to Flims and rip the first epic trails this year. After those pretty stressful working days it’s kind of luxury to put on your goggles and flow through a beautiful enviroment. Under my helmet the world is still alright. I love it…

Up there!

Written by kaikai

After another pretty exhausting 24-7 working epic it was more than time to get some pixel-free visions in front of my eyes. Luckily I had a holiday today and the summer finally got back. In fact this meant 27°C and sweet sunshine. Perfect conditions for taking a good brake at the Bikepark…

MacGyver

Written by kaikai

During some serious research I ran across this amazing product, and now I know why Cool Guy is Cool Guy. Looks pretty much the same as the guy below… So MacGyver supports Deutschland at the European Championship? Or is StarGate now a soccer goal? Why is there no hooting on the streets today? Why was Mr. Lehmann not part of the StarGate Team? Are people only happy when Deutschland scores in soccer? Is soccer a substitue for real amusement? I guess I’ll hoot tomorrow morning because I’ve scored a free day on Friday today….day.day….
