Why?

Written by kaikai

It’s not fair. Working the whole week with focussing these holy 48 hours of free time to be human on the weekend and expecting some sunshine or fresh Powder… and naw: It’s sunday, snowing like hell, totally whitout style in the ski resorts and I’m hanging behind the screen with a couple of sweet machines in front of me that I can’t use at a weather like this. Well, I’ll follow the advice on the Post-it…

TwentySeven

This week has been unbelievably hard again. Sometimes I really wonder how this works with me. Well, maybe this Birthsday on Tuesday was my final one…maybe not. Anyway, I’m now 27 years, freak by heart, Creative Director and evolving, still using the wooden plank beside Downhilling and Snowboarding AND I’m not married. So far life seems to be ok. But I guess one day my attitude will kill me, or my brain will finally come to the conclusion that the mission in Design is over now OR there will be that one particular woman to prevent me from self distruction (beside my mum of course!). That will be the time when I’m chilling somewhere in the mountains, screwing on bikes and just take it easy…
Okay enough about me, my dad and Amelie came down for a week and we did some sightseeing and eating and stuff you do with your parents….and I guess they got a picture how my workingweek appears…48h no sleep and still smiling at presentation, chi-ching! I’m pretty sorry that I did not find too much time for them but I’m happy that they came here.

Again…

Written by kaikai

Again a weekend onboard, again epic views, again gained some more snowboard skills, again spent hours driving to the mountains, again met some good people and again…wait! What did not happen in repetition (in this case “repetition” is a pretty positive word)? Well, another 48 hours-no-sleep-master-design-show-including-a-airport-rental-car-marathon shortly before the weekend, a nice fitness session directly afterwards, my new iPhone, more questions about the working mankind turning to robotic-like, some new cognitions about the hidden beauty of beauties… And my Dad and Amelie came down to stay a week here in the south. So there will be another interesting week ahead and agaian the average struggle how to do what when why… And just as a side-note: This iPhone thing is pretty Glossy-Apple and Macchiato-Frappucino-Artsy and whatever but hey, it should be a phone, right? Man, they should have left the name at cisco and call it iApple. That’s what it does best. As a phone I’m really mourning a little after my 5 year old Siemens. It has seen pretty much of the world…Well I guess the iPhone will do this too but with a blurry cam like above it wont be able to realize the worlds full beauty (hehe). But thank you for the music for giving it to meeeee (my fist personal contact with music was a cheap walkman including and ABBA Cassette – nice little circle, no?). Anyways, lets go scouting again next week…

Powder!

Written by kaikai

After anothernothernother hard week it was time to get some fresh air into the brain. On Staurday i tried to get as much sleep as possible – 10 a.m…WOW! I remeber one year ago freshly from Artschool I could do this much better and longer. Anyway, after getting showered my buddy Tim and me head out to a Motobike Fair. Actualy I’m not interested that much in Motorbikes but watching those guys doing burnouts and concrete drifts is just amazing. I guess boys are the only humanoids that could spend a whole day burning rubber, so cool!
On Sunday it was time to get some nature in my focus. My Buddy Alex packed me and Stephan to do some Powderlines in Laax. Friends, amazing sunshine, fresh snow and a new Sant Cruz plank were the best prerequisitions for having good times. We hiked a little into the stunning backcountry and did some smooth first lines… What more can you wish for on a sunday? Okay, maybe someone that has prepared some nice food when get back home but…My mum send me a cake! That’s sweet too and helps me getting trough those shady Sunday evenings. Mum’s the best!

Would you…

...let this guy give you some lessons in Snowboarding? Well, me not but it is impossible because it is me myself and I have to go on a pretty serious mission and give some snowboard lessons to my Buddy Stephan on the weekend… I feel a little nervous. Luckily the stress at work makes it impossible to let it come through…

Above the clouds…

Written by kaikai

It’s such an amazing scenary! After getting some serious sleep I invited a madame from Paris to a little hike in the mountains. It is so cool when there’s this foggy greasy wheather down in the vally and you have the possibility to get out there – above it. Where is only the sweetest sunshine. I love it!
In the evening I tried to leave a good impression by cooking something non-spaghetti and I guess Madame liked it, well, I liked it too and maybe we like each other also…. And hey! I recovered my French skills again…

Happy Oh Nine!

Written by kaikai

So finally 09 is here and I wish everyone an amazing year! Feel good do good! Sylvestro was great. In the morning my Buddy Pete and me whead out to Lenzerheide to enjoy 2008s last session. After that we met my parents for dinner at a very german “Gasthof”. Usually you do not expect something special to happen at these locations but … well. Just in a short form what happened:
-eating great food
-meeting a supernice Brazilian Family with a son that rides Downhill (cheers to the Dias!) – trying to get thepictured bottle of vodka out of my fridge (I guess I should use it more often…) – driving with Pete on a completely iced higway at 12.00 – doing 360° with my Logan on the swiss Autobahn…also with Pete who did not like the idea at all – going to a pretty crooked party in St. Gallen with some really nice girls and three of us boys…> – something not to blog about – sleeping beside Peter on the couch of my buddy Stephan – not really getting sleep due to Petes snoring – getting up at 7 to get the first chair at LAAX – realizing that snowboarding with some % alcohol in your blood is more fun – being nearly dead on the evening of January 1st
All after all I can only say that this was one of the coolest New Years Eves of the past.

Back on board…

Now it’s getting pretty close to New Years Eve and I got back south to enjoy the advantages of living in the mountains.
My buddy Pete came down to do some riding and some chillin’ at the kaikai motel…
